District La Brea is located in the heart of a historically influential creative community. Part of the former Design District of Los Angeles, including the iconic Continental Graphics building, the La Brea neighborhood is powerfully influenced by fashion and film. Nestled in mid-city Los Angeles between downtown and Hollywood’s Fairfax district, this stretch of La Brea is known for being the birthplace of such influential brands as Undefeated which opened its first store here in 2002. Prior to that, American Rag launched across the street in 1984 and Stussy’s first West Coast store opened here in 1992.
District La Brea represents an 110,214 square foot adaptive re-use development project situated between 1st and 2nd Streets along La Brea Avenue, formely home to Continental Graphics Corporation, one of LA’s premier printing shops. In 2011, District La Brea went through significant architectural improvements, highlighting each of its eleven buildings’ unique characteristics including wood truss ceilings, exposed bricks and steel beams. It’s distinctive storefronts showcase a creative collective of fashion-forward retail, home design, creative office and locally sourced dining option.
